Today’s Wi-Fi Conference

Well, at the conference today, I went in thinking…wi-fi….what could I possibly learn? I have a wifi network at home! They have wifi at Panera Bread… hard can it be?

Well, now I wonder if it is worth trying at all? First we need to make sure that we are in compliance with P.A. 212. Next if we want funding we need to be in compliance with CIPA. In order for this to happen we need to have a way to authenticate users. They have done it at the Ann Arbor Public Library….but this solution seems well beyond the capabilities of the tech staff…(me)…at our little library. If anyone knows of a good easy way to authenticate users….I would love to hear it.
